Paul Martin was an Irish football player during the 1970s.
He signed for Shamrock Rovers in 1968 where after a season in the reserves he was promoted to the first team. He was released on a free transfer in June 1972 by then manager Liam Touhy and moved to Bohemian F.C. where he made one appearance in European competition against 1. FC Köln in the UEFA Cup.
After one season at Dalymount Park he signed for Athlone Town. European football again beckoned for Paul and he scored against Valerenga home and away in the UEFA Cup[1][2] to set up a meeting against A.C. Milan where Paul played in both legs.
His son John Martin (Irish footballer) also played for Rovers. Another son Robert Martin (footballer) plays for Dundalk.
